At just 50km to the east of the Siem Reap city, a new development of the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is being constructed on a 700Ha plot in the Sotr Nikum district, with the total investment budget of $880 million. This airport is expected to handle at least 7 million passengers annually and the number is expected to be increased to 10 million by 2030 and further increasing to 20 million by 2050.
Today, this 700Ha new airport is completed 40%, and expected to reach 70% by the end of 2022.said H.E. Sinn Chansereyvutha, under-secretary of state of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA).
The construction process has been slightly delayed because of China's restrictive measures due to rising shopping, equipment supply, and material costs. However, H.E. Sinn Chansereyvutha mentioned that the airport is expected to be put into commencement in late 2023 or early 2024.
The developments and upgrades will transform the province to be more attractive to investors and tourists, which will be potentially hiking demanding and pricing the properties in Siem Reap.
Most importantly, our investors would also benefit from this transformation, as one of our underlying properties is also located in this province, UT Siem Reap 17140. The project is currently trading at $0.59/UT with the target reselling price at $0.75/UT, which would potentially generate more than 20% of the return in the near future.
