The 187.05 KM Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway which started to construct in March 2019, with an expected cost of nearly 2 billion US dollars is scheduled to be put into temporary use on October 01st, 2022 and free of charge for one month.
The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville expressway reduced the travel time from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville Port from five hours to just two hours. The route will pass through about 8.3km of Phnom Penh, 9.1km of Kandal province, 80.8km of Kampong Speu province, 1.92km of Koh Kong province, and 89.89km of Sihanoukville.
After the temporary use period, there will be a fee charged to travel on this express road, depending on the vehicle type. For example, a family car will be charged $24 for a round trip.
As the expressway is soon ready to be used, it will attract more visitors between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville as well as create more traffic to the city and the pass-through area. Our investors would also benefit from this, as one of our underlying properties is located along the way to the expressway. More traffic to the area will have a positive impact on the underlying asset and create more opportunities for it to the market.
As of September 22, 2022, our project UT Pochentong 555 is traded at $3.50/UT with the target reselling price of $4.55/UT, which would potentially generate up to 30% of the return in the near future.
